Khoa Bui has been featured on The Libertine in the past, so naturally, we were thrilled to bring you this newest story formulated by the talented photographer.  Khoa cast scorching beauty, Natalie Morris, as the subject of ‘Sterling Silver’, an editorial brought to you exclusively by Khoa Bui and The Libertine’s Summer Session. Natalie transforms from glowing and classic to smokey and ardent; this editorial encapsulates the entire gamete of feminine charms. The beauty palettes were created by makeup artist Nathan Hejl, while her gorgeous coif was styled by Melissa Adelaide. The elegant lingerie and other wardrobe choices were selected by stylist Andrea Araujo. Enjoy!

As part of our Summer Session, The Libertine was pleased to collaborate with photographer Katja Kremenic to bring our readers this ethereal summer 2013 lookbook for exotic new resort label, Cariblanco. The series, created in Costa Rica, captures Swiss/Costarricense designer-turned-model Fabiana Kuhn in an array of soft and eclectic leisurewear, as she explores the jungles, coast lines and breath taking horizons of a tropical paradise. This story  transports the reader to a peninsular oasis where wayfarers sleep late, subsist on natures bounty and never have an obligation to get fully dressed. The editorial, entitled ‘The Attic’, is a fusion of classic artistry and dramatic sensuality, framed against a setting of opulent luxury. A collaboration between exotic model Bee Dee Pearson and photographer Blooming Flowers; the story captures the essence of feminine allure, as a beautiful young woman disrobes within the sanctuary of an attic in her paradisaical South American retreat. Reminiscent of some of the great classical works from the likes of Helmut Newton and Irving Penn, the shoot features tasteful nude portraiture with very little styling or over production. Each shot tells a story all of it’s own, for a collection of truly stunning artistic nude images. Enjoy!

As The Libertine transitions into the amber cast afternoons of autumn, we enthusiastically unveil the highly anticipated collection of stories that compose our second exclusive series here on The Zine: The Fall Flight. For the first installment in the series, The Libertine is honored to bring you another collaboration with one of our favorite lens masters, Akila Berjaoui.

Since foundation of The Libertine in 2009, Akila‘s work has been a constant source of inspiration and motivation in developing our own publication! The freedom, feminine idolatry and sensual revelry communicated through out her work, embodies our sybaritic philosophy here at The Libertine.

For our latest story, ‘Heartbreak Hotel’, Akila‘s Casting Director, Simone Hush, designated Libertine favorite, Jessica Sikosek, to portray the jilted bride that finds respite for her broken heart on the glistening beaches of the Italian Riviera. Adorned in edgy yet feminine looks created by stylist Amy Bannerman, Jess is every bit the ‘jilted bride’ turned ‘blissed out babe on the rebound’. Amy’s sultry vision was tangibly enhanced by the accompanying hair/beauty looks; expertly envisioned and executed by beauty pro, Helena Lyons. For the finishing touches on the editorial, the fabulous Madeline Carroll designed the illustrations for our cover; fierce and fresh!

As she always does, Akila formed a playful bond of friendship with her subject; allowing a natural emergence of gaiety and beauty throughout the vivid images. It is the youthful aura and unapologetic sass to Akila‘s work, that has us so enchanted with her here at The Libertine. She somehow, never fails to see the extraordinary in the quotidian…and for that Ms. Berjaoui has our unending admiration and adulation.
